Animation Begins/Life Ends

The time has arrived! Animation has officially begun now that the bulk of the work on the animatic is done. A while ago myself and Joe ranked the shots in order of difficulty, and shot 0011 happened to be one of the easier ones which is why I have chosen to ease myself into the sorry state I am about to become. This shot is really straight forward in terms of what he has to be doing: sitting and typing, then stopping and slightly slumping over.

The video above is a blocked version of the animation I've been working on for about half a day. I originally had a much more primitive version of a blocked scene but the wrists didn't show any kind of movement what so ever and I realised I wasn't going to be able to get away with such a basic approach to the scene. But I went back and added some more variation and detail and I think the timing is working pretty well to start with so it's a good place to be in at the moment. I'm just happy to finally be animating really, as we were so close to that stage with spellbound before we dropped it.
