The Rig

So Greg has been working on the rig for a while now and it's coming along really well. Below is a shot of the intern character. At the start of the year we gave him a few rig examples of ones that we enjoyed using and found really comfortable. The handles are really well laid out and it's mad easy to navigate, and there are some insane features that he's put on there aswell which are quality.

Myself and Joe both had different preferences of the neck controls which we spent a while debating over, but Greg was able to set up a way of changing the neck control from one to the other so that neither of us had to use the one we weren't happy with! He also added something into the rig I've never seen before and that was breathing controls that work on their own without needing any animating at all, and it also had speed settings as well. INSANE.
The base control also has a switch to change between the two characters! We decided that the two characters didn't really need to be noticeably different sizes and it wouldn't especially benefit the story. So with that in mind, Greg attached the two different (same size) models to the same rig, meaning that all his time could be spent developing one rig instead of two, so he's done this super fast and it's really good quality as well.
The rig also has three types so that it can run smoother: proxy, animation and render.
Below is a picture of the zombie mes on the rig:
